System Requirements

The following operating systems are supported as SSH Tectia Server platforms:

  • IBM AIX 5.2 and 5.3 (POWER)
  • HP-UX 11.00, 11i v1 (11.11), and 11i v2 (11.23) (PA-RISC)
  • HP-UX 11i v1.6 (11.22) and 11i v2 (11.23) (IA64)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4 (x86)
  • SUSE LINUX Professional 9.0 and 9.1 (x86)
  • SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (x86)
  • Sun Solaris 8, 9, and 10 (SPARC)

The operating system is assumed to be installed with default components, unless otherwise mentioned.

On other Unix platforms than listed here, SSH Tectia Server can be installed by compiling from the source code. The source code is available separately upon request. See Appendix Installing on Other Unix Platforms.

The following minimum hardware is required:

  • SSH Tectia Server (A): For administration purposes, any standard hardware.

    SSH Tectia Server (T): 1 GB RAM for hundreds of simultaneous tunnels.

  • 100 MB free disk space
  • CD-ROM drive (optional, if installed from network)
  • TCP/IP connection
