Upgrading the Installation
SSH Tectia Server can be upgraded simply by installing a newer version of
the software on top of the older version. On most platforms, there is no
need to uninstall the previous version first. The already defined
configuration will be preserved untouched.
Exception: On Solaris, the previous version has to be uninstalled before installing a new version.
Before upgrading to a new major or minor release (for example, from
4.1.x to 4.2) remember to update the license file as described in
Section Licensing.
Any special considerations are detailed in the platform-specific
installation instructions in the following sections.
Note: We recommend that you back up all your configuration
files in the /etc/ssh2
directory before starting to upgrade.
Note: Before upgrading, all users must be logged out of the
server and the server must be stopped.
Upgrading from SSH Tectia Server (A) to SSH Tectia Server (T)
SSH Tectia Server (A) can be be changed to SSH Tectia Server (T) simply by copying a valid T

.
SSH Tectia Server (T) can be changed to SSH Tectia Server (A) by copying a valid A Server
license file to /etc/ssh2/license_ssh2.dat
.

To take the new license type in use, restart the server as described in
Section Starting and Stopping the Server.
