Terminal Window Status Bar

The status bar is located at the bottom of the terminal window. When browsing through the menu options or toolbar buttons, the status bar displays a short context-sensitive help text.

When the menus or toolbars are not browsed, the left side of the status bar indicates the remote host computer you are currently connected to. If you are not connected, the status bar displays the text Not connected - Press Enter/Space to connect.

The next status bar field shows the current protocol version, encryption algorithm, MAC algorithm, and compression separated by dashes (for example: ssh2 - 3des-cbc - hmac-md5 - none). Note that the status bar displays some of the algorithm names in a longer format than the Connection screen of the Settings dialog.

The next field displays the number of columns and rows of the Terminal window. If you change the size of the terminal window, this window size indicator will be immediately updated.

If you are connecting through a proxy, the next field of the status bar displays an icon when the proxy is in use. Click the field to open the Proxy page of the Settings dialog. For more information, see Section Defining Proxy Settings.

The next field displays the SSH Accession icon. If SSH Accession Lite is running, the icon is displayed normally, otherwise it is grayed out. Click the SSH Accession field to open the SSH Accession page of the Settings dialog. For more information, see Section Using SSH Accession.

If you have a smart card reader active, you should see a small card reader icon on the next column of the status bar. When a token is inserted, a smart card appears in the card reader in the icon. When a key is acquired from the token, a key symbol appears on top of the card reader icon. Click the smart card reader field to open the PKCS #11 page of the Settings dialog. For more information, see Section Managing PKCS #11 Providers. If the smart card reader icon does not appear, see Section PKCS #11 Provider for troubleshooting information.
