Unpacking the Installation Package
The contents of the installation package are binary programs and EBCDIC
text files. Use binary mode to copy the package and unpack it without codeset
conversion.
Before copying and unpacking the installation package, make sure that
the temporary directory has at least 300 MB of free space.
Online Package
If you are installing from a downloaded online package, do the following steps:
- Unpack the online package
ssh-tectia-server-m-5.5.1-ibmzos.tar
to a suitable
temporary location, for example /tmp
in the USS file system, with
the following command:
> tar xvf ssh-tectia-server-m-5.5.1-ibmzos.tar
This will create the directory /tmp/ssh-tectia-server-m-5.5.1-ibmzos
that contains ssh-5.5.1-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z
package.
- Unpack the
ssh-5.5.1-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z
package with the following commands:
> cd /tmp/ssh-tectia-server-m-5.5.1-ibmzos
> tar xvzf ssh-5.5.1-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z
This will create the directory /tmp/ssh-tectia-server-m-5.5.1-ibmzos/ssh2-5.5.1.<build>
,
where <build>
is the current build number of the package.
CD-ROM
If you are installing from CD-ROM, do the following steps:
- Copy the
ssh-5.5.1-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z
package to a
suitable temporary directory, for example /tmp
in the USS file
system.
- Unpack the
ssh-5.5.1-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z
package to
a temporary location, for example /tmp
in the USS file system,
with the following command:
> tar xvzf ssh-5.5.1-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z
This will create the directory /tmp/ssh2-5.5.1.<build>
