Running Client Programs
SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS contains three client-side applications:
-
sshg3 is a secure replacement for Telnet and other
unsecured terminal applications. sshg3 can also be used for
remote command and job execution, and creating secure tunnels for TCP
applications.
-
scpg3 is a secure replacement for remote copy (rcp)
and provides easy secure non-interactive file transfers.
-
sftpg3 is a secure replacement for FTP and provides a user
interface for interactive file transfers and a batch mode for unattended
file transfers.
The ssh-broker-g3 component handles all cryptographic operations
and authentication-related tasks for the sshg3, scpg3, and
sftpg3 client programs. Normally, the Connection Broker starts in the
background automatically whenever one of the SSH Tectia client programs is
started, and stops when the client program is stopped.
The ssh-socks-proxy component is used for transparent FTP tunneling
and FTP-SFTP conversion. For more information on the SSH Tectia SOCKS Proxy, see
SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS Administrator Manual.
