Unpacking the Installation Package

The contents of the installation package are binary programs and EBCDIC text files. Use binary mode to copy it and unpack it without codeset conversion.

Before copying and unpacking the installation package, make sure that the temporary directory has at least 200 MB of free space.

Online Package

If you are installing from a downloaded online package, unpack the online package ssh-tectia-server-m-5.4.2-ibmzos.tar to a suitable temporary location, for example /tmp in the USS file system, with the following command:

> tar xvf ssh-tectia-server-m-5.4.2-ibmzos.tar

This will create the directory /tmp/ssh2-5.4.2.<build>, where <build> is the current build number of the package.

CD-ROM

If you are installing from CD-ROM, do the following steps:

  1. Copy the ssh-5.4.2-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z package to a suitable temporary directory, for example /tmp in the USS file system.
  2. Unpack the ssh-5.4.2-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z package to a temporary location, for example /tmp in the USS file system, with the following command:
    > tar xvzf ssh-5.4.2-ibmzos_1_5.tar.Z

This will create the directory /tmp/ssh2-5.4.2.<build>, where <build> is the current build number of the package.
