Packaging

There are several versions of the SSH Tectia Client and SSH Tectia Client with EFT Expansion Pack installation packages designed for different operating environments, and containing different components of the product.

For SSH Tectia Client, there are the following options:

On Unix and Linux platforms, the SSH Tectia Client comes in two installation packages:
The ssh-tectia-common package contains the common components of SSH Tectia Client and Server.
The ssh-tectia-client package contains the specific components of SSH Tectia Client.
On Windows, SSH Tectia Client comes in a single MSI installation package. The installed components can be selected during the installation phase.

For SSH Tectia Client with EFT Expansion Pack, there are the following options:

On Unix platforms (including Linux), SSH Tectia Client with EFT Expansion Pack comes in five installation packages:
- ssh-tectia-common package contains the common components of SSH Tectia Client and Server.
- ssh-tectia-client package contains the specific components of SSH Tectia Client.
- ssh-tectia-client-ft-only package is similar with the previous package, but this does not include the sshg3 program.
- ssh-tectia-ftp-conversion package contains the FTP-SFTP conversion components.
  Note that the FTP-SFTP conversion is not supported on 64-bit Linux platforms.
- ssh-tectia-sdk package is a software development kit (SDK) that contains the file transfer APIs in C (on all platforms) and Java (on Linux and Solaris).
On Windows, SSH Tectia Client with EFT Expansion Pack comes in a single MSI installation package that includes also the SDK, FTP-SFTP conversion, and the sshg3.exe program. The installed components can be selected during the installation phase.
Note that the FTP-SFTP conversion is not supported on Windows 2003 or Windows 2003 x64.

Table 2.1 summarizes the required and optional SSH Tectia Client packages on different platforms.
