The chcp command can be used to dynamically change
the code page in interactive terminal sessions. The default Tectia Server for IBM z/OS
configuration supports this usage. The code page (and the locale) is
typically set up in each user's .profile
or
.tcshrc
script (see the IBM book z/OS USS User's
Guide).

The chcp command has code page names as its arguments. The code pages must be supported by iconv. The chcp command cannot specify a translation table file.
