Enabling FTP-SFTP Conversion (Windows)

On Windows, the connection capture component required for the FTP-SFTP conversion feature has to be separately selected during installation. For installation instructions, see Installing on Windows .

On Windows, FTP-SFTP conversion is automatically active when the Connection Broker is running and the filter rules enable FTP-SFTP conversion in the Connection Broker configuration. You can make filter rules to define additional settings for FTP-SFTP conversion, for example whether fallback to plaintext FTP is allowed with connections where creating a secure tunnel fails.

The following example configuration converts any FTP connections to port 21 on any host to SFTP, and allows falling back to plain text transfer mode in case the secure connection cannot be established. The user name and the destination host name are taken from the application that initiates the connection.
